Today you will learn about the best man that ever lived. We already know that the prophets were the best from all the people. But our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam) was the best from all the prophets. He was the most special person chosen by Allah.

Our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam) is the best and his story is also the best from all the prophets! By reading his story, we will learn how the best person ever lived!

Our Prophet Muhammad is Born

After 50 or 55 days of the amazing story of the elephant, on Monday morning in the month of Rabī Al-Awwal, our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam) was born. It was the day the best person ever was born.

When our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam) was born, a woman who was there, says: “The whole house started glowing and the stars in the sky came down so much that I thought they would fall on me!”

The mother of our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam) saw a light shining on the castles in Syria.

After our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam) was born, his mother Aminah called his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib. He came and became very happy when he saw his grandson. He took him in his hands and took him to the Ka’bah. He prayed to Allāh and thanked Him. He then took the baby to his house and showed everyone his grandson.

Today was a very special day.

The Seventh Day

On the seventh day after our prophet was born, Abdul Muttalib called all the Quraysh for a big feast. Everyone ate and was very happy.

Abdul Muttalib then named his grandson Muhammad. The people asked him why he named him Muhammad. Muhammad means someone who other people say good things about. So Abdul Muttalib said, “I named him Muhammad so that the angels in the heaven and the humans on the earth can say good things about him.”

Drinking Milk

After our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam) was born, his mother Aminah gave him milk for 3 or 4 days.

Then a slave girl called Thuwaybah gave him milk. She was the slave of Abu Lahab who was the uncle of our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam).

When Thuwaybah told Abu Lahab that our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam) was born, he became so happy that he freed her.

When our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam) grew up, he would show respect to Thuwaybah and treat her very good. He would send her presents and would always be happy to see her. He did all this because she helped our prophet and gave him milk when he was a baby.

We learn how kind our Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam) is! He remembered her and respected her even after so many years.

We learn that we should always remember all the good things people do for us and always be nice to them. We should never forget what other people have done for us.
