Shaykh-ul-Ḥadīth Haḍrat Mawlānā Muḥammad Zakariyyā Kandelwhī was once dictating a letter of condolence to the family of a deceased that he is supplicating and conferring rewards on their behalf. He then said that when Ḥakīm al-Ummat Mawlānā Ashraf ʿĀlī Thānwī would write a letter of this nature, he would recite Surat-ul-Ikhlās thrice and confer its reward to the deceased, and then state the reason for this that what he is writing does not become a lie.
