Shaykh-ul-Hadīth, Hadrat Mawlānā Muhammad Saleem Dhorat hafizahullāh says that,
“One of the ploys of Shaytan is that he keeps us back from those actions towards which we ought to be advancing. Take the example of coming to the masjid for salah. A group of people will come early but not have the ability to actually enter the boundary of the masjid; rather, they will prefer to engage in conversation outside the masjid until the salah commences. Another group of people are those do come inside; but, they keep themselves towards the back of the masjid for whatever unimportant reason. The last group of individuals are the chosen and selected servants of Allah, who advance towards the front and engage in worship. This is just one example. These categories of people can be found in all different types of worship.
We need to decide which category we fall under? Ask ourselves as to why do we fall under that category? Is Allah unhappy with me? Or do I have a valid reason?
