On one Friday, during his stay in Madina Munawarrah, Shaykh-ul-Ḥadīth Ḥaḍrat Mawlānā Muḥammad Zakariyyah wore a new set of clothes after performing the Friday ghusl (ritual bath). As he approached the car (which was needed due to his inability to walk), he noticed that the garment was a little below the sunnah length of half the shin. He immediately verified from his attendants whether he was correct in his judgement? They all answered in the affirmative. He at once requested for his old garment and wore it, and sent the new garment to a tailor for shortening.
