Shaykh-ul-Hadīth, Hadrat Mawlānā Muhammad Saleem Dhorat hafizahullāh mentioned:
Remember the box of toys we had as a child. It meant the whole world to us. An inseparable part of life. However, when we passed our infant days and our preferences gradually matured, the same box of toys became worthless and insignificant.
In a similar way, when death strikes and the reality of the hereafter comes to light, the box of life with all its pleasures and treasures will seem like nothing but a “box of toys”.
Just like a box of toys becomes worthless in the eyes of a child, the toys in the box of life will seem worthless in the eyes of the child of this world. Therefore, we should take lesson from the box of toys in our childhood and treat the glitters of this world just as insignificant; having firm conviction that they too will one day seem just as worthless and insignificant. Allah says:
“The life of this world in (comparison with) the Hereafter is nothing but meagre enjoyment.” (Al-Rad, 26)
